Speak up against bullying. If you see someone getting bullied for anything, find an adult and consult them about it, immediately.
I remember getting bullied when I was younger for being different. As a child, I was bigger than all the other girls in my class and they would verbally attack me about it. I would get laughed at and taunted at. I never told a teacher because I didn't know it was wrong, all I knew is that it hurt my feelings and made me really self-conscious about myself. I didn't have many friends. I didn't talk much. I really, actually, kept to myself always. I always did my work by myself, whenever we paired up for projects, I would work alone in silence. One day, in second grade, a girl named Nakaria saw the other girls making fun of my weight. She walked over in a rage and screamed at the girls to shut up and stop bullying me. It turns out she had the same thing done to her when she was in my grade (She was a Fifth Grader). We became friends and then I moved. I recently found out that she committed suicide about two years after that because a bunch of bullies were calling her a lesbian and kept harassing her. I can't stand bullies. I know how it feels to go through the pain and embarrassment that a lot of people go through today.
Today, I stand up and take the pledge to try my hardest to stop bullies everywhere.
I may not be able to do it alone, but if you take the pledge with me, together, we can make this world bully free.
